High-School-2C: Psychological Disorders

What happens when the mind faces challenges that affect behaviour, emotions, and thoughts? This six-week unit explores the complex world of psychological disorders, offering students an opportunity to learn about mental health and the science behind it. Students will examine key concepts such as defining abnormal behaviour, understanding mental health conditions, and exploring how psychological disorders are diagnosed and treated.

This unit encourages empathy and critical thinking, helping students gain a deeper understanding of the human experience. Through case studies, discussions, and interactive activities, students will explore common disorders such as anxiety, depression, and schizophrenia, while also learning about the importance of mental health awareness and reducing stigma. By the end of the course, students will not only understand the science of psychological disorders but also feel empowered to contribute to a more compassionate and informed society.
